Double Down for a Difference: Community Makes a Dual Impact
Published on August 26, 2024 by Pineapple Willy’s
On August 24th, 2024, an incredible 189 individuals joined forces at Pineapple Willy’s for a beach cleanup event that made a significant impact on our community. The massive turnout not only resulted in a cleaner beach but also benefited two remarkable local organizations.
A Cleaner Beach for All
The dedicated volunteers spent their morning collecting trash, debris, and other pollutants that harm our marine environment. Their efforts paid off, leaving our beach cleaner and more beautiful than ever.
BASIC NWFL: Providing Crucial Services and Support
As promised, we donated $10 for every person who showed up, resulting in a total donation of $1890 to the Bay County Boys and Girls Club. This organization provides a safe and supportive environment for young people to learn, grow, and thrive.
But that’s not all! Our friends at The Wicked Wheel matched our donation, contributing $1890 to BASIC NWFL, a vital organization dedicated to enhancing the quality, availability, and accessibility of HIV prevention, treatment, and support services. BASIC NWFL plays a crucial role in providing medical and non-medical case management services to individuals living with HIV, as well as housing assistance to low-income individuals and families affected by HIV.
Thank You to Our Volunteers!
We’re grateful to each and every one of the 189 individuals who joined us for this beach cleanup event. Your dedication to protecting our environment and supporting local organizations is truly inspiring. Together, we can create a brighter future for our community!
Let’s keep up the fantastic work and continue making a positive impact in Bay County!
