75 Volunteers Help Raise $1,500 for Panama City Rescue Mission

The Pineapple Willy’s Foundation’s Summer Beach Cleanup Series continued on Saturday, August 29, as 75 volunteers came together for another morning of cleaning our beautiful shoreline and giving back to the community.

This week’s cleanup benefited the Panama City Rescue Mission, a local organization that has been serving individuals and families in need for more than 50 years.

As part of the Foundation’s commitment to supporting local nonprofit organizations, $10 is typically donated to the week’s featured organization for every volunteer who participates. With 75 people joining us Saturday morning, the Panama City Rescue Mission was set to receive a donation of $750.

But the Pineapple Willy’s Foundation decided to double the impact, presenting the organization with a total donation of $1,500!

Founded in 1973, the Panama City Rescue Mission is a faith-based nonprofit focused on helping individuals overcome difficult circumstances and work toward stability and self-sufficiency.

Today, the organization operates transitional living programs for men, women, and children, providing a structured and supportive environment for people working to rebuild their lives. Participants have access to resources including case management, employment assistance, transportation, health care connections, financial literacy classes, counseling resources, and other services designed to help them move toward independence.

The organization also works to address immediate needs in our community through its meal programs, serving more than 26,000 meals annually.

The Pineapple Willy’s Foundation is proud to support an organization that has spent decades helping people throughout our community find a path forward.

Each week of the Summer Beach Cleanup Series reminds us that it doesn’t take an entire day to make a difference.

For just one hour on a Saturday morning, our volunteers help remove litter from the shoreline and protect the beach that residents and visitors enjoy every day. At the same time, simply showing up helps generate financial support for another organization serving our local community.

Thank you to all 75 volunteers who joined us this week and helped turn an hour on the beach into a $1,500 donation to the Panama City Rescue Mission!

We’d also like to thank all of the amazing raffle sponsors who have supported us throughout this year’s Summer Beach Cleanup Series.

Their generosity adds a little extra fun to every cleanup and gives us an opportunity to reward some of the volunteers who spend their Saturday mornings giving back.

We’ll be back on the beach next Saturday, September 5, at 8:30 a.m. for another Summer Beach Cleanup, this time benefiting the Toys for Kids Foundation.

The Toys for Kids Foundation is a Bay County nonprofit dedicated to helping local families with children in need. For more than two decades, the organization has worked with local agencies, businesses, volunteers, and sponsors to help ensure children throughout our community are cared for—especially during the Christmas season.

Their work is rooted in a simple idea: no child in our community should be left out of the joy of receiving a gift at Christmas.

We hope you’ll join us for another Saturday morning of giving back. Spend an hour helping us keep Panama City Beach beautiful, and your participation will also help support local children and families through the Toys for Kids Foundation.
