A Rare Winter Wonderland: Snow on the Beach in Panama City Beach!
Published on January 24, 2025 by Pineapple Willy’s
This past Tuesday, January 21st, something truly magical happened in Panama City Beach—a snowstorm! For the first time since 1989, we woke up to a breathtaking winter wonderland right here on the Gulf Coast.
Snow on the beach isn’t something we get to see often (or ever, really!), and with a recorded total of over 3 inches, it was a day we’ll be talking about for years to come. The sight of pure white snow blanketing the sandy shores, palm trees, and even the iconic Pineapple Willy’s pier was nothing short of surreal.
Of course, like most of the city, we weren’t exactly prepared for this rare weather event. Roads and businesses closed, and life as we know it in our sunny beach town came to a chilly standstill. But instead of feeling inconvenienced, our community embraced the snow day with open arms and big smiles.
Locals and visitors alike bundled up in their warmest clothes (a rare sight in itself) and headed out to enjoy the frosty fun. From snowmen on the sand to snowball fights and kids making snow angels by the water, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that brought everyone together. Families spent quality time playing in the snow, and friends captured unforgettable memories against the backdrop of the Gulf.
At Pineapple Willy’s, we loved seeing the joy and wonder on everyone’s faces as they embraced this extraordinary day. Seeing our beloved beach town transformed into a snowy paradise reminded us of how special it is to live here and share these unique experiences with our community.
If you have photos from this rare snow day, we’d love to see them! Share your winter wonderland moments with us by tagging @PineappleWillys on social media.
Here’s to hoping it doesn’t take another 30+ years to see snow again—though we wouldn’t mind if it stayed just as rare and magical!
Stay warm and stay sunny, The Pineapple Willy’s Team
